OUR METHODOLOGY

Two phases. Zero surprises.

Most software projects fail because coding starts without clarity. Our methodology solves that with a complete technical plan before writing a single line of code.

The problem we solve

Why do software projects fail?

52.7%

of projects cost 189% more than originally estimated

Standish Group

31.1%

of projects are canceled before completion

31%

of projects are successful (time, budget and expectations met)

Standish Group CHAOS Report

The root cause is almost always the same: development starts with a vague idea. No defined architecture, no clear features, no real estimates. The result: cost overruns, rework and projects that never finish.

Phase 1

Strategic Blueprint

The most important deliverable of the project. A complete technical document that defines exactly what gets built, how and how much it costs — before writing a line of code.

1

Brief and discovery session

Deep session to understand your business model, target users, problem to solve, expected features and required integrations.

2

Architecture design

Functional structuring of the system: modules, user flows, recommended technology architecture and phased development strategy.

3

Blueprint presentation

Delivery of the complete document: product definition, feature map, functional wireframes, technology stack and grounded estimate of timelines and costs.

What the Blueprint includes

Product definition
Feature map by module
Complete user flows
Functional wireframes
Recommended technology architecture
Timeline and cost estimates

The Blueprint is yours. You can take it to any development team in the world and execute it. No lock-in with Sigma Dev.

Phase 2

Development

With the approved Blueprint, development is predictable. Each sprint has clear objectives and the client knows exactly what to expect.

We execute the project using the Blueprint as a roadmap. No scope surprises, no unplanned budget changes, no rework due to lack of definition.

Sprints with objectives defined from the start
Partial deliverables verifiable by the client
Controlled changes with estimated impact before execution

Frequently asked questions
Can I buy just the Blueprint without the development?

Yes. The Strategic Blueprint is an independent deliverable with its own price. You can contract it and then execute with Sigma Dev, with another team, or use it as a base to hire internal developers. And if you decide to continue development with us, the cost of the Blueprint is deducted from the total project — it's an embedded investment, not an additional cost.

How long does the Blueprint take?

It depends on project complexity. For a typical MVP, between 1 and 3 weeks. For more complex systems, up to 4 weeks. At the end of the Blueprint you have an exact estimate of development time.

What if I already have written specifications?

Great, we review them in the initial session. In practice, 95% of specifications have critical gaps that only a technical architect detects. The Blueprint identifies and resolves them before coding.

Does the Blueprint guarantee no cost overruns in development?

Yes, within the defined scope. The Blueprint eliminates cost overruns caused by ambiguity in requirements — which are the main cause of the 52% of projects that go over budget.
